Start with the rules
Florida's residential pool barrier law, Florida Statute 515.29, sets the basics: a barrier at least 4 ft high on the outside, no gaps a young child can crawl through, squeeze through or climb, and gates that swing outward and close and latch by themselves. Your county adds details, and a required pool barrier needs a permit in the City of Orlando. Read our guide below, and ask us for the spec sheet of any style.
